Roof access hatches are used to gain access to a roof from the inside of a building. The type of access ladder that leads to the roof hatch will help to determine which size hatch will be needed.

Babcock Davis Roof Hatch

Personal roof hatches come in many different standard sizes and are accessed via vertical ladders. The most common inside dimensions (ID) include but are not limited to: 30″ x 36″ ID, 36″ x 36″ ID, and 48″ x 48″ ID.

Lane-Aire Stairway Hatch

Stairway roof hatches come in many standard sizes and are accessed via stairs and ships ladders. The length of the units gives the user adequate head room as they near the roof hatch lid. The most common inside dimensions (ID) include but are not limited to: 30″ x 54″ ID, 30″ x 96″ ID, and 36″ x 96″ ID.

Lane-Aire Domed Roof Hatch

Domed roof hatches are typically used in areas where lighting is deficient such as mechanical rooms. The domes allow natural light to brighten up the area. Domes can be manufactured to fit any standard sized roof hatch.

Lane-Aire Equipment Hatch

Equipment hatches are used on buildings that require the transfer of large items to or from the roof. Although not limited to, these are more commonly found centered over pumps on pump building such as waste water treatment plants. The equipment hatch allows access to the pumps so they can be hoisted in or out of the building.

Be sure to protect all of the roof hatch users with one or more of the following safety equipment:
